My neck has been so sore I can barely turn my head. I think I injured it when I had the flu several weeks ago and was violently throwing up. It has been perhaps two months since I initially injured it so what is up with it not being healed by now? I’m getting old and my body does not heal as quickly anymore.
In fact my body is just not what it used to be. My reactions are slower. Every morning I remind myself of my old black lab. I get up and walk stiff legged like he used to do because I can barely walk due to the arthritis in my ankles. They pop like someone snapping their fingers with each step I take until they get warmed up. I am mostly deaf and it is torture for guests to watch TV with me because I have it turned up so loud. My eyebrows and hair have turned white. My vision is steadily declining, my face is getting all wrinkled up, and I have skin cancers all over my arms and elsewhere like barnacles on the bottom of a boat, and on and on.
A friend mentioned the other day that he was driving down the road and got behind a truck fully loaded with brand shiny new cars. He dropped back some because he feared one might snap off and drop on him. He then experienced something unusual. Another truck coming from the opposite direction fully loaded with old dilapidated, crushed and beat up cars headed for the junk yard passed the truck loaded with the brand new cars. How ironic and odd for this to happen he exclaimed. He stated that it reminded him of our fate as Christians. When our time in this world has expired, our old dilapidated bodies will be exchanged for a brand new glorified body. This new body will never grow old and will be perfect for all of eternity.
WOW! The older and more worn out I get, the better that new and glorified body sounds. Young people enjoy your health and realize what a blessing it is; however do not dread the days that you too will grow old, for as Solomon, the wisest man the world has ever known, stated:
Eccl. 7:8
The end of a thing is better
than its beginning.
The end is better
