Recently I made the acquaintance of someone who is perhaps the saddest person I have met in a long time. I have a hard time with this. Basically I am a very happy person. Occasionally I get mad or sad and even a little blue, but it quickly vanishes like a fog being dissipated by a fast moving ocean wind. I believe that my faith in God is what keeps my attitude positive.

Every human being on this planet will experience problems, and yes that includes Christians. The Bible puts it this way, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, BUT, (emphasis mine), the Lord delivers him out of them all. I believe that prayer is the answer to problems. The Bible teaches that the “eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are open to their cry”. By virtue of what Christ did for us on the cross, His followers are considered righteous, which means that God’s eyes are on us and He hears our cry for help, (prayers). As proof, further in this same chapter the Bible goes on to say, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves such as have a contrite spirit”.

If you have a broken heart or are greatly troubled about something I urge you to go to the Lord in prayer. You can be assured that He hears you and is watching you and that He will deliver you. Now how comforting is that??? The Bible which is the inerrant living word of our almighty Father unequivocally guarantees it. Have faith! God wants your faith and your love; give it to Him. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to be a sad sack’. God is good all of the time and He loves you! So cheer up already!

Psalm 34:22
The Lord redeems the soul of
his servants,
And none of those who trust in
Him shall be condemned.
