Anyone who has ever worked for me understands that I want them to prioritize their work tasks and assemble them into an organized and systematic list. First make a list and then prioritize it and finally develop a plan to pull it off beginning with the highest priority items on the list. This methodology works in business and in our personal lives as well. Have you prioritized your work for the Lord?
In order to prioritize something we must first determine what is most important. What would you think is most important to the Lord? The answer can be found in the Bible. One clue might be concerning the last words ever uttered by Jesus Christ. Do you know what they were? Most people would incorrectly recite what Jesus uttered as He died on the cross, “It is finished”. They would be wrong because Jesus arose on the third day and spent considerable time appearing to various people and conversing with them after His resurrection. The last words ever uttered by our Savior can be found in Acts Chapter 1 verse 8. Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them and then they were to spread the gospel virtually to the entire world beginning with the Holy land. Immediately after stating these last words, Jesus ascended into the clouds and returned to his throne in heaven.
One could logically assume from this passage that Jesus has defined our priorities for us. First we should secure our own salvation and then second work diligently towards spreading the gospel to others throughout the world. If you are not currently sharing the gospel then I urge you to do so. Everyone knows someone who is lost. They should feel a burden for those people and find a time to witness to them. This is important! Very Important! Are you working on these priorities?
Acts 1:8
But you shall receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come
upon you and you shall be
witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in
all Judea and Samaria and to the
end of the earth.
Now when He had spoken these
things, while they watched, He was
taken up and a cloud received Him
out of their sight.
