I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday about Hawaii, my favorite place on all of the earth. He had spent a week and a half on Kauai, perhaps the most beautiful island in the Hawaiian chain and fell in love with it. In fact he seriously looked for work there and would have probably moved there had he found an opportunity. One thing he said about it was quite interesting. He said, “Even if someone was not a religious person, they would come away from Kauai knowing that there had to be a God”. I could not agree more. It is a land of stunning beauty with sheer cliffs and waterfalls covered with lush tropical rainforests. The Pacific Ocean’s deep cobalt blue surrounds it as do sparkling white sandy beaches sprinkled with coconut palms covered with blue sky above. It truly is a paradise and if you have not visited these islands, put it on your list of 100 must do’ things before you die.

I believe that God’s glorious creation is a testament to His nature. He is the master artist. He is the epitome of creativity and genius of design. His glory is all around us to enjoy and is just an appetizer for the main course awaiting us in heaven. One need only look above to the heavens, at the mountains, oceans, sunrises and sunsets, forests, and creatures of every description large and small to get an inkling of what God’s nature must be like. Have you wondered if He was smiling when He created the scarlet macaw with its stunning red/yellow/blue color combinations or maybe if He might have even laughed out loud when He came up with the design for the howling monkey. How fun it must have been for Adam to spend personal, one on one, time each day walking and talking with the Lord and assisting Him in naming the various creatures that God brought to him in the Garden of Eden. Think of it, one day soon we will once again have that kind of access and be able to walk in His holy prescence.

There is plenty of evidence of God’s glorious nature, all we need to do is open our eyes and soak it all in…

Isaiah 6:3
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of
hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!”
