My daughter in law is pregnant with twin daughters. My son showed me a DVD of the sonogram, of his daughters recently. I was amazed at this technology as we could see the babies moving around comfortably relaxing in their temporary home awaiting birth. Their features were easily distinguishable including their faces, and we could even quite readily see their tiny hands and feet. As we watched them moving around, my son wondered out loud how anyone could perform an abortion. “We are not looking at “fetuses”, we are watching “babies”human beings!” he exclaimed.

I wondered aloud how the doctors could perform the abortions. Couldn’t there be another way to make a buck? Perhaps the cruelest of all is the partial birth abortion whereby the head actually exits the womb and then forceps are used to tear the baby’s head apart. I do not even like to think about it. I believe God must have a special place in Hell reserved for the doctors who perform these barbaric procedures. It is legalized sadistic murder in my book.

I realize that there can be special circumstances whereby someone may not want their baby, but I cannot understand why they will not carry it to term and just put the baby up for adoption. Millions of people want to adopt and would gladly do so if given the opportunity. In this day and age our society has come to accept the fact that youngsters sometimes do not abstain from sex and accidents do happen; however there are so many support groups and agencies that will assist someone with needs like this that it is easy to carry the baby to full term and give it up for adoption or even raise the child as a single mother if necessary.

God does not look at the unborn as “fetuses”. To confirm this, all one needs to do is read the Bible and it will become evident that we are not the only one vividly aware of the unborn in the womb. In fact God knew us before the womb. He is certainly aware of us while in the womb. The unborn are part of God’s holy creation and He is aware of every detail of the Williamson twins right now. I know God had to have a big smile on His face just as big as or probably even much bigger than my son and me as He watched one of the twins yawn and stretch awaiting her entry into the world.

Jeremiah 1:5
Before I formed you in the
womb I knew you…
