Many of you may have wondered whether or not my wife appreciated my sharing with you her foul-mouthed temper tantrum which occurred when I accidentally hit a wave a little too hard with my boat the other day.
Wonder no more, she did not appreciate it. I had to listen to her complaining and whining for quite some time. Finally I told her that the Bible indicates that one day everything done in secret and in fact every idle word will be exposed. Her partial day of reckoning just came a little early and would be a preview of things to come. Further I told her that if she did not use language that would blister the bark off of trees and embarrass a thirty year Marine Corp drill sergeant; she would not have to worry about her saga being broadcast on WFTD. I then had to listen to all of my shortcomings, and every incident whereby I was raving, and all of my foul-mouthed madness that she could recall…

Although this may sound a little humorous, it is really a sobering thought to know that one day everyone, including born again Christians, will face judgment and be required to give an accounting of every sin that they committed. If you would be embarrassed to no end for anyone to know any of your deep “hidden secret” sins, just understand that sooner than you might wish “everything” will be exposed for all to see.
There are no secrets. God never sleeps and He sees it all. It is all being recorded for that judgment day when God will sit in judgment of us all.

Non-Christians will face the great white throne of judgment whereby they will give an accounting of their sins and unfortunately without the punishment for their sins being paid by the sacrifice of Jesus, they will have to take the punishment themselves. It will not be pretty.
They will be banished from God’s presence for eternity and their entire lonely existence will be filled with darkness, weeping and gnashing of the teeth… Fortunately when Christians face judgment and every sin they have committed is recounted, they will have the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ to cover them and they will be spared further punishment, as Jesus already took the punishment for our sins on the cross. Make no mistake though; our sins will be exposed for all of creation to see!

It is hard to understand grace, but it is easier to understand that we would be sentenced to everlasting torment were it not for the loving grace of Jesus. He did not have to endure what He endured on the cross with people mercilessly beating Him, spitting in His face, jeering and mocking Him, and ultimately torturing Him to a painful, gruesome death whereby He took on the entire sins of the world and His Father who cannot look upon sin turned His back on Him for the first time in His existence. We will never fully understand or comprehend how much Jesus suffered, nor how much He cares for each of us, but we can certainly get an inkling of it. Jesus is pure love and he loves us so much that He paid our sin debt with His very life. We should be eternally thankful and likewise love Him with all of our heart, soul, body, mind and spirit and then love each other in like fashion as He has commanded. He wants to save us from ourselves and we need to think about that always! We also need to think about the judgment and how it will feel to have every hidden thing we have done exposed. It will be much nicer to live the best life we can and have our Father look at us and say,” Well done!”, than have to hang our heads in shame as our sins are exposed to all creation…

Matt. 12:36

But I say to you that for every

idle word men may speak, they will

give account of it in the day of judgment.

for by your words you will be

justified, and by your words you will

be condemned.
