It has become increasingly difficult for me to write WFTD. I’m traveling in excess of 200,000 miles per year. Often I get in to my hotel late at night and am up early the next morning rushing to the next meeting, so I can rush to the airport to go somewhere else. By the end of the week I’m tired and worn to a frazzle. Internet connectivity at most hotels is increasingly difficult, with connectivity and firewalls a constant headache. After writing thousands of WFTD for literally years, I’m also having difficulty finding stimulating subjects. In the past I have felt that WFTD was effective in lifting the spirits of those who read it every morning, but lately I do not get that feeling. My own spirit seems low right now.

I have been searching the Bible for an answer and have not found one. In a nutshell, I am greatly discouraged. That is why you have not been receiving WFTD regularly as you have in the past. I know that satan would not want a daily devotional to be sent to anyone and he is probably delighted that I am struggling right now. Unfortunately if the truth were known, the only scripture some of you who read WFTD ever see is the scripture in WFTD, and without it, the word of God is missing in your life. Satan knows this and I’m sure will do everything he can to discourage me and try to bring an end to it once and for all.

We all struggle with the evil influence in our lives. God expects us to call upon Him for help in defeating it. Christ struggled mightily on the cross and He is our example. He prayed until blood actually came out of His forehead prior to His ordeal, and with that example looming in front of me, unquestionably I need to put more effort into prayer about this problem in my life. Our conduct should not bring dishonor to Him or to the gospel. I’m not just talking about sin. I’m talking about contributions or the lack of them. Everyone has skills that can be used to glorify God. If we do not use them for anything but our own gain, then evil is triumphing in our life. There will always be problems associated with doing anything for the kingdom of God. We must ask God to help us overcome them including discouragement and obstacles that prevent us from accomplishing our goal of letting our conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ.

How are you using your skills to glorify Christ?

Phil. 2:4

Let each of you look out not

only for his own interests, but also

for the interests of others.

How well do you know the Bible?

Who described himself as the “Bright and Morning Star”?

Rev.21:16
