It seems that most of the people that I know are seldom satisfied.
Something is always missing and they never seem to have enough of anything. I was studying one of my favorite books, Psalms this morning and came across several passages that refer to the glory of creation.
It describes the work of our Lord’s fingers as He fashioned the heavens and how He ordained the moon and the stars. God’s glory saturates us with beauty. The earth, the air and the seas abound with life of every description. The Psalmist asks a poignant question, what is man that you are mindful of him? We sometimes think the world centers around us and our selfish desires; it does not. God loved us enough to give us dominion over the works of His hands in this old world, but everything revolves around Him, not us.
Stop and look around at the glory that God has created for our use today. Join me and let’s forget our mundane problems and desires and consider the works of God at least for a moment. Consider how fortunate we are to have a God who cares for us deeply and who has given us dominion over the entire world and who watches over our every move with tremendous interest. How excellent is His name!
Psalm 8:1
O Lord our Lord,
How excellent is Your name
in all the earth.
How well do you know the Bible?
The eyes of the Lord are on these people. His ears are open to their cry. Who are they?
Psalm 34:15
