Ask this question to some and they might say it is most important to land that next big deal, get a raise, pay off their debt, buy a new house, car, boat, or plane, or get that promotion that is long overdue. Money and possessions drive a huge segment of our population. Financial problems are the leading cause of divorce in the USA. People stay awake at night worrying about money and/or scheming how to make more money and get more stuff. People jump off bridges because of financial woes.
When we die we will face God naked, not in an Armani suit. We will not go driving in to heaven in a shiny new Porsche or Corvette. We will not go steaming into heavens harbors in a 68 foot Hatteras or even a 27 foot Boston Whaler. In fact we take nothing but our lifes work with us. All our stuff will be left behind and in due time the world will not even remember our brief existence and most of our stuff will either deteriorate to nothing or belong to someone we never met. Yet for all time what we did on this earth on Christ Jesus behalf will live on.
Something to think about isnt it…
Luke 12:15
And He said to them, Take
heed and beware of covetousness,
for ones life does not consist in the
abundance of the things he
possesses.
How well do you know the Bible?
