The Passion

I heard the latest in Hollywood is that their elite is now portraying Mel Gibson as being similar to Hitler because of his The Passion of Christ movie. I dont think that will fly with many people. Satan will use every vehicle he has to combat this movie; however he seems to be losing the battle. A recent poll indicated that 76% of the adults in America have either seen the movie or intend to see it. The same poll indicates that after viewing it, people understand that all of the people of the world were responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus, not just the Jews.

The passion or suffering of Christ had to occur because of all of our sins. Indeed when I was watching the beatings and the spitting upon our Lord in the movie, I twinged with guilt as I knew that my sins were part of the reason that Jesus had to go through what He did. I appreciate what he did for me even more after seeing the movie. We all have a choice. I can more easily understand how God can sentence those who reject His Sons sacrifice to everlasting Hell after seeing what Jesus endured for us all. Jesus gave it all that we might live. Those who reject His precious sacrifice will be left to suffer themselves for their sins. I believe this movie has come along at this time to help evangelize a lost world prior to Gods return. I pray for those who have seen the movie and rejected Gods redemption plan, but honestly wonder if there is any hope for them.
