Who killed Jesus?

It is almost amusing to see the secular media wrestle with Mel Gibsons movie, The Passion of the Christ. Seeing them discuss this on the news helps to put in perspective how poorly they analyze and report the rest of the news. No the Jews did not kill Jesus, nor did Pontius Pilate or the Romans, we all did. Jesus was put to death by the sins of the world. Christians and those who have read and studied the Bible understand this. Secular people do not.

My wife and I discussed how the media which up until now primarily is used to promote violence, sex and pornography, gay lifestyles, having fun by drinking alcohol and all of the rest is finally going to be used to help evangelize the world. I am hopeful that this movie will let millions of people know just how much God loves us and what He sacrificed in order that we might live and that perhaps there will be a worldwide revival.

Jesus lived a perfect life and willingly went to an excruciating painful death and thus became the perfect sacrifice to God for our sins. Had Jesus not made this sacrifice, we would never have been able to reconcile with our righteous and holy Father. I strongly urge you to pray for Mel Gibson. He was courageous to make this movie and he needs our prayers. Satan does not want this movie shown and his extensive network of followers will fight it with every ounce of their strength. I also urge you to take someone who is not a believer to this movie. As we watch Christ being crucified, we need to recall all of the lies we have told, all of the moments of greed, all of the sins that we have committed, and we should realize that what Christ endured was punishment for our sins and the sins of the world. That is why people cry when they watch it. He loves you and He loves me and if after seeing how much He loves us, we do not accept Christ as our Savior we deserve everything Hell has to offer.

Romans 10:9

But what does it say? “The word is near you, even in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart one believes to righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made to salvation.

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

For “whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

How well do you know the Bible?

2 Cor. 5:21 states: For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the ___________ of God in Him. Fill in the blank. . .
