Do you have any doubts about what will happen to your soul when you die?
Will you join the Lord and reign with Him forever? Will you be separated from Him forever? This is the most important question in your life whether you treat it as such or not. Eternity is forever; life on earth is only for eighty or ninety years, more or less .

How can we be sure? The Bible states plainly that not everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord at the judgment will be allowed to enter
heaven. The Bible tells us that we must believe that Jesus is the
living Son of God, that He gave His life for us as atonement for our sins and was resurrected. It goes on to say that we must not only believe the foregoing, but “do the will of the Father”. Now either the Bible is right or wrong. I would not bet against the Bible; plainly it has withstood the test of time.

What would be a true test for our salvation? The first and foremost question is do you believe that Jesus is the living Son of God who was crucified for our sins and three days later was resurrected and lives today, (as satan and the demons in hell believe)? OK, if we answer yes to that, we can now go to part two of the test. Have you surrendered your life to Him and do you consider Him the most important priority in your life? Do you read God’s word, the Bible, daily? Do you witness to others about God? Do you pray often? Do you tithe? Do you attend church regularly? Do you think about God often and actively seek His will for your life? When you make a mistake and commit a sin, do you feel bad about it and ask forgiveness? Are you thankful for what God has done for you? Do you feel a love for God? According to the Bible all of the foregoing is a part of God’s will for our lives.

I believe that there is more to getting into heaven than reciting the Sinner’s Prayer, being Baptized, and joining a church. To someone who does not know or love the Lord, this may seem like a lot, but to a true Christian, it seems only natural. Recognizing Jesus Christ for who He is and then doing His will, that is the true test.

How do you score on the most important test of your entire life?
(Remember, either your eternal destiny depends upon it, or the Bible is a lie.)
