Did you know the Bible tells us to stop complaining and disputing? In the same passage it acknowledges that we live in a crooked and perverse generation and even in spite of that we should shine as lights in the world. I must admit that I often whine and complain when I see the evil in this world seemingly winning the battle for the hearts and souls of the people who inhabit this world. Although 78% of the people in the United States claim to be Christians, one would hardly know it by watching television, or reading a newspaper. It seems as though the entire world is a crooked and perverse generation
Last night I watched a Billy Graham classic crusade that he preached in Portland Oregon several years ago. When the alter call was made Billy told them that there were four things one should do after accepting Christ. Read the Bible, pray often, tell others about Christ and find a church to attend every Sunday and then attend it regularly. He emphasized the part about witnessing to others about Christ the most. I think it is the one thing that Christians most often ignore. Billy Graham stated that we should tell others what Christ has done for us and let them know the same thing can happen to them. Some seem to think that only religious nuts or fanatics do this, but the Bible tells us all to witness to others.
Phil. 2:14
Do all things without complaining
and disputing,
that you may become blameless
and harmless children of God without
fault in the midst of a crooked
and perverse generation, among
whom you should shine as lights in the
world…
How well do you know the Bible?
Does God tempt us?
James 1:13
