Christmas can be a lonely time for those who have recently lost loved ones or who are just alone for some reason such as divorce. Statistics indicate that as odd as it seems more people commit suicide at this blessed time of the year than any other. More than likely you can help someone this year. We all know those who have lost someone close to them lately, or who may have been recently divorced. Why not invite them over to celebrate with your family, watch a few football games, open some presents, and eat a big Christmas dinner? If they recently lost a loved one, you might share this poem with them:

I’M SPENDING CHRISTMAS WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR

I SEE THE COUNTLESS CHRISTMAS TREES

AROUND THE WORLD BELOW

WITH TINY LIGHTS, LIKE HEAVEN’S STARS,

REFLECTING ON THE SNOW.

THE SIGHT IS SO SPECTACULAR

PLEASE WIPE AWAY THAT TEAR.

FOR I’M SPENDING CHRISTMAS

WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR.

I HEAR MANY CHRISTMAS SONGS

THAT PEOPLE HOLD SO DEAR,

BUT THE SOUNDS OF MUSIC CAN’T COMPARE

WITH THE CHRISTMAS CHOIR UP HERE.

FOR I HAVE NO WORDS TO TELL YOU

THE JOY THEIR VOICES BRING,

FOR IT’S BEYOND DESCRIPTION

TO HEAR THE ANGELS SING.

I KNOW HOW MUCH YOU MISS ME,

I SEE THE PAIN INSIDE YOUR HEART.

FOR I’M SPENDING CHRISTMAS

WITH JESUS CHRIST THIS YEAR.

I CAN’T TELL YOU OF THE SPLENDOR

OR THE PEACE HERE IN THIS PLACE.

CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE CHRISTMAS

WITH OUR SAVIOR, FACE TO FACE?

I’LL ASK HIM TO LIGHT YOUR SPIRIT

AS YOU LIFT YOUR EYES ABOVE.

SO PLEASE LET YOUR HEARTS BE JOYFUL

AND LET YOUR SPIRIT SING.

FOR I’M SPENDING CHRISTMAS IN HEAVEN

AND I’M WALKING WITH THE KING!

Christmas is no time to be sad or lonely. We are celebrating the birth of our Savior. Jesus had compassion for people. I do not believe that He wants people obsessed with Santa and presents while there is such real need throughout humanity. Lets enjoy the time to be with our families but think of those needy people out there and then help anyone that we can help especially those who are less fortunate at the same time…Imagine how you would feel if you were all alone this Christmas season, and then think about it because it very well could happen to you!

Luke 12:19

And I will say to my soul, Soul,

you have many goods laid up for

many years; take your ease; eat,

drink, and be merry.

But God said to him, Fool! This

night your soul will be required of

you, then whose will those things

be which you have provided?

How well do you know the Bible?

Jesus often told His followers not to worry about material things. Once he told His followers not to worry about their clothing and what they will wear. He compared it to something that even Solomon in all his glory could not compare. What was it?

Luke 12:22-34
