I was asked to do a segment in WFTD concerning what should happen when two parents differ in regard to how best to raise their kids.Which parent’s desires should be used? This is tough because this very nice young lady probably will not like the answer. If Martha Burk hears about it she might drop her Masters Golf tournament protest todemonstrate outside my Jacksonville home, but the Lord is very clear that the husband should be the head of the household and wives should submit to their husbands. The Biblegoes on to say however, thathusbands should love their wives as Jesus loved the church. Jesus loved the church enough to die for it and men should love their wives in the same manner. If someoneloves in that manner, they will give every consideration to their wives views, but, in the end, if there is still a difference, the husband should make the call.
I fully realize that many women do not buy this in 2003; hey, do not get mad at the messenger, take it up with the Lord. He set the laws. They are the same today as they were 2003 years ago and they will be the same 2003 years from now. I believe He has His reasons for setting things up this way and they are good reasons, andI do not question them, albeit I do not always understand everything He ordains. I caution those of you who would dismiss part of the Bible and choose to believe only the parts with which you agree. If this logic worked, people could choose to commit adultery, homosexuality, never tithe, commit murder or whatever. The Bible should be believed in its entirety, this according to the Bible itself.
Getting back to raising kids, I highly recommend that every new parent use the Book of Proverbs written by Solomon instead of Dr. Spock. According to the Bible, Solomon was the wisest man that will ever live.People in his day came from far and wide and marveled at his wisdom. Much of Proverbs concerns raising children. It is interesting to note that Solomon believed in discipline including using corporal punishment, “spare the rod, spoil the child”. This is another “New Age” taboo and is fast becoming grounds to go to jail.
What if the husband is a lowdown skunk who has rejected God and will not go to church, and wants to let the kids drink beer and read pornography? Leave and take the kids with you. (Assuming you have tried everything from powerful prayer to counseling.)

How well do you know the Bible?
Jesus had been in the desert without food for forty days and nights and was tempted with breadby satan in the desert. Jesus responded that man shall not live by bread alone, but by …..What?
