Americans are impatient people, we want and fully expect instant gratification. Much of the Bible encourages us to have patience and persistence. I have never accomplished anything of any importance easily. It takes hard work, patience and persistence to achieve most anything worthwhile. I think the same is true when it comes to prayer. If we approach prayer in that manner and “earnestly” seek God’s help beginning with faith coupled withpersistence, hard work and “patience”, we will succeed. I truly believe that most Christians and especially me tend to underestimate the power of prayer and perhaps do not work as hard at it as we do for other important projects. It is an interesting concept, you “reap what you sow”. You get out of prayer what you are willing to put into it. God instructs us to “earnestly” petition Him and to be persistent and patient knowing that God answers all prayer in His timetable.

Luke 11:9
So I say to you, ask and it will
be given to you; seek and you will
find; knock and it will be opened
to you.

How well do you know the Bible?
What is the sting of death according to the Bible? What is its strength? What is victorious over it?
