It seems to me that too many people these days are working themselves into a fearful lather worrying about terrorists, nuclear bombs, Anthrax, wars and other maladies. Who was it that said, “we have nothing to fear but fear itself? The media gets paid to find every fearful thing “worldwide” and exploit it to the hilt, and from what I see they are earning their pay.
The worst terror event of all time was 911, and approximately 2500 people lost their lives. Two hundred and sixty “million” people live in this country. I’m not belittling or trying to downplay this disaster; however we do need to put it into perspective…The Bible tells us to have a “sound mind”. That means we cannot be overcome by irrational fear. I could not believe my eyes as I watched a guy on TV duct taping plastic to the outside of his house in preparation for a terror attack. This man was stomping around in the snow in Connecticut trying to seal his house I assume to protect himself from chemical warfare. He should probably fear asphyxiation more than chemical warfare.
God does not want His children to have a spirit of fear. He has a plan for our lives, and when it is fulfilled, we will join Him forever in paradise. What is there to fear? Trust God and keep the faith! Everything will work out according to plan…
How well do you know the Bible?
The Bible teaches that every kind of beast, reptile, and creature of the sea has been tamed by mankind, but there is one thing we have never tamed. What is it?
James 3:2-18
____________
2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit
of fear, but of power and of love
and of a sound mind.
