The country is on the verge of war in more than one country, bankruptcies are up and the stock market is down, – (In fact it is a
mess) – unemployment is high, the threat of terrorism looms around us, most of the country is experiencing drought, the rest of the country is underwater with floods, most of the countries in the world hate America, the crime rate is rising again, West Nile, AIDS, Anthrax and Smallpox are all threats to our health, and on and on…
It is enough to worry someone silly if we dwell on it. The Bible clearly foretells all of the above and more. It tells us to “Rest in the Lord”. Rest in the Lord??? With all of this going on and I’m supposed to rest?? Yep, that is what the Bible tells us. We must patiently wait for Him to right all wrongs. He will do so within His own terms and in His own good time. The Bible further states that being fretful only causes more harm. We are to trust Him implicitly and let the good times roll.
So follow the following advice:
Sit back and relax, do not fret! Tell yourself that you do not have a care in the world and believe the Bible when it tells you that the Lord will take care of everything. Rest in the Lord! Close your eyes now…Ahhhh…Not a care in the world…Isn’t that nice?
(If only we could do this all of the time.)
