I should have bed sores for the amount of sleep I got yesterday.
Normally I sleep 3-4 hours per night. I took a “nap” that long yesterday after getting home from church, and then on top of that I retired for the evening at 8:30 and slept all night. For me that is a “tremendous” amount of sleep. I woke up and my eyes were puffy from so much sleep, but I do feel rested today.

God set the example for us when He rested on the seventh day after completing His work with creation. He wants us to follow His example and in fact commanded us to rest one day per week. I must admit I was tempted yesterday to begin working on my new sales and marketing plan, but I overcame it and obeyed the Lord. I’m sure it will pay off this week as I face the challenges that I will surely face.

The Lord knows us best. He designed us and He knows our weaknesses and our strong points. If He says we should rest one day per week, then “rest” assured there is a good purpose for it. We also are to keep that day Holy and worship Him. How about you? Did you rest yesterday? Did you worship the Lord? Are you ready to face today’s challenges with vigor and enthusiasm? No? You should have listened to the Lord :-}
