Is it enough?

This life is filled with uncertainty. Day in and day out events occur which appear ominous to us. I do not think this is by accident. God created us according to a plan. I believe that part of His big scheme of things is for us to come to the realization that we must rely on Him if we are to succeed. He wants us to draw close to Him for all things.
How about you? Do you take everything in stride and trust the Lord to be with you through thick and thin? Or do you worry about the future and “your” ability to control things?

There will come a time in each of our lives when we or someone we know will face uncertainty in the form of a possible life threatening situation. Perhaps a routine physical or test will reveal that we may have cancer, or some other life-threatening disease. Perhaps a mammogram will show a need for more tests, or a mole will change color and begin to bleed and the doctor will order more tests. As we await each series of test results we will find little solace in knowing that we have a shiny new car equipped with a shiny new bumper hitch to pull our shiny
new boat to the lake.

God designed us to rely on Him for everything, not just when we face uncertainty. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes uncertainty to make us realize that we need God. Those who try to make it entirely on their own cannot fully succeed. Yes we might make some money and have material things to excess, but it will not provide much of anything in real happiness. We cannot obtain peace and joy apart from God. It all boils down to faith in God. Faith that he has a plan for each of our lives. If the test is positive or if it is negative has already been determined. God knows the answer. The Bible states that God knew us before we were in the womb. There is a plan for each of our lives including the sobering fact that He has appointed each of us an exact time to live and a time to die. We cannot change the result by one minute or even one second; so why worry about it? We must trust that He knows best. He loves us with immeasurable love. How can we not trust Him? Whatever happens on this earth is insignificant in the big scheme of things. God will get us through tomorrow and the next day and the next until he calls us home to live with Him forever and ever. We are weak but He is strong. It pleases God for us to rely on Him; it mysteriously contributes to His perfection.

I do not mind telling you it is a relief for me to have someone to dump all of my problems on that actually wants me to do it. My Father loves me and wants me to trust Him for everything. No problem!

And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
