We go through valleys and peaks, good times and bad times. Someone has said that you are always coming out of one and heading into another. It is kind of like the weather. Yesterday it was beautiful in Los Angeles, today it is terrible in Seattle. The terrible weather in Seattle makes me appreciate the good weather in LA all the more.
I am slowly emerging from a valley and moving onto a nice sunny peak in my life. Several big problems have recently been resolved for me and it looks like smooth sailing for a while. I am ready for some smooth sailing. I
appreciate the good times far more because of the difficult times. Does that make sense? A cold miserable day makes a sunny day with bluebird skies all the more enjoyable.
Someone might say, “yeah but you will not be enjoying it long, because what goes up, must come down.” I say, baloney on you, there will be plenty of time to sing the blues when I’m back in a valley. When on a peak, bask in the sunshine and enjoy it to the hilt. And be sure and thank God for putting you there. Remember every good gift comes from Him including letting us
spend a little time on a peak.
_____________
James 1:17
Every good gift and every perfect
gift is from above, and comes
down from the Father of lights, with
whom is no variableness, neither
shadow of turning.
