Are you winning more than losing? It is impossible to win all of the time, but it is entirely possible to win more than lose. Too often we become conditioned to losing. It becomes a part of our daily lives. If you are in sales, perhaps you accept the fact that someone else can win the order, or maybe you just whine that your sales quota is too high.
If you are in management, it is easy to say I do not have enough experience for this or that difficult project. It is beyond my skill level. If it is your Christian life, it is easy to say that the temptation is just too great.
Make no mistake about it; it is much easier to lose than win. It is easier to make excuses than put forth determined effort. Winning however, is much more enjoyable than losing. It will require more effort and determination to win, but it is worth the effort. God wants us to be winners. He is a winner and He wants us to follow His example.
He promises to help us every step of the way as long as our goals are within His will for our lives.
We are coming up on the end of another year. As I reflect back on it, I see several areas where I have begun to lose. I’m ten pounds heavier than this time last year. I have let some ugly habits that I had whipped last year, return with a vengeance, and in fact, are actually worse now than last year. I have not met many goals, (which is losing for me), that I would ordinarily have met. This is not to say that I have not won some battles, but overall I would candidly have to say that I did not win as much as lose last year. Frankly I have not put forth as much effort as in previous years. As my Father would counsel me, I have become fat and lazy.
Hmm… Guess it is time to make some New Years resolutions a little early this year and start putting forth the effort to turn this scenario around starting TODAY. I would rather be a winner than a loser and I know that it will take action, not words to turn next “season” around, whereby this time next year, I am basking in the winner’s circle instead of rubbing my fat paunch wondering what happened.
I’m prioritizing my list and planning my strategy now. How about you?
Are you losing any of life’s battles? With God’s help, you can win?
Remember though, your goals should be God’s goals!
