From time to time even the best person stumbles. Satan and his hordes are powerful and they know our weaknesses. Sometimes we succumb to his temptations. Personally I hate it when it happens. I always have a sick feeling that again I have let God down. The Bible is clear that we will occasionally stumble, but our Father will be right there to pick us up and dust us off again. He will in no way cast us down, rather through His loving grace will raise us back again. Nonetheless, I think that anyone who is truly saved will be very remorseful when they stumble.
Remorse should lead to a strong resolve to repent and avoid making the same mistake again. The Bible teaches that God is “delighted” when we follow His commands. I can think of no better way to go through life than “delighting” the Lord! It just could not get much better than that.

Psalms37:23
The steps of a good man are
ordered by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
Though he may fall, he shall not be
utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with
His hand.
Stumble but no fall
