Another plane went down this morning with over 250 people on board. It crashed into a neighborhood and probably even more lives on the ground were lost. Again we are tragically reminded of the brevity and uncertainty of life. The Bible gives some good advice for times like these. It instructs us to be anxious for nothing and to use prayer and supplication, (supplication means to humbly and earnestly ask for our requests in prayer), with thanksgiving to ask God to help us. Note that this verse states that our hearts and minds will be “guarded” by none other than Jesus Christ. The peace of Jesus will prevent satan’s attempt to worry our hearts and minds from being successful. Don’t let satan be successful in worrying you. Jesus stands guard over those who ask Him and I can think of no better guard standing over us.

Phil. 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in
everything by prayer and supplication,
with thanksgiving, let your
requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God which
surpasses all understanding, will guard
your hearts and minds through
Jesus Christ.
