People in the good old USA often think of our country as the center of the world. Indeed we are currently the richest, most powerful country in the world. God, however does not look at the USA as the center of the world. His choice is Israel, with Jerusalem being His Holy city.
When you see video clips of this tiny country on the news, it doesn’t look that great or impressive, but despite what it looks like to us, God sees something else. He loves this land and it is the land He chose above all other on earth.

Israel is on the news every night. Many countries throughout the world absolutely despises the little Jewish nation that inhabits it. The USA supports Israel, (this is one reason I believe that God has blessed the USA so much), but it is becoming more difficult for our citizens to support this policy, because of terrorists in countries around the world that hate us because of our friendship with them. There are those in this country that would like to see us abandon our friendship with them so we can have some peace and quiet. I think that would be a big mistake.

The Bible predicts that Israel will continue to be the center of controversy right up until the end. Many countries will be involved in a tremendous battle there, (Armageddon). The Jewish temple will be rebuilt on its original site, which incidentally is the same place that the Muslims currently have their third holiest religious temple, the Dome of the Rock. I believe the stage is set and we are rapidly moving towards this activity. Indeed last night the Israelis were battling with tanks and troops throughout Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Gaza and several other locations. One well placed bomb by Israeli fundamentalists terrorists and the Dome of the Rock would be gone, clearing the way for the temple to be rebuilt. The anti-Christ will one day sit on a throne in this temple and people will actually worship him. He will be satan incarnate, probably a character with traits much like Osama Bin Laden.

One troubling thing to me is that in the end times prophecies laid out in the Bible, (as I understand them), there is no mention of the USA.
I could certainly be wrong, as much of end times prophecy in the Bible is symbolic and is very hard to understand. But the way I understand it, Russia is referred to as Magog and is prophesied to invade Israel from the north. They will be supernaturally defeated. Arab countries, Asia, Africa, and a coalition of European countries will form a worldwide government comprised of ten members and at some point all will join forces and will battle for Israel. The USA is mysteriously missing
from this picture. Why? Will our country be destroyed by then? Will
natural disasters or terrorists put us out of the world picture?

I was pondering these questions last night and of course I want my country and essentially my life and family to stay the same, and I was agonizing over what may or may not happen. Then I thought, who am I to question God? There is a gospel song that has the following lyric: “I have decided to follow Jesus”, and it applies here. Whatever happens in these perilous and uncertain times, Christians need not worry. All we have to do is keep the faith and follow Jesus. Everything will unfold just as He wills and we should simply trust in Him completely. The Bible teaches that our faith should be like a little child. Think about it, little children don’t question, they just put their complete trust in their Father, and “let the good times roll”. If you want some peace, don’t worry about Anthrax, hijacked planes, or bombs, just decide to follow Jesus, and wherever His good purpose takes us we shall go. Maybe sooner rather than later, we will all celebrate the good times by rolling all over heaven!

And we know that all things work
together for good to those who love
