Humility

I had a “great” experience this morning. I got up early and went fishing which was good, but what made it great was how the morning went.
As background I went with someone who cannot say enough about what a great fisherman he is. It is nauseating to hear him brag. Immediately he wanted to make a wager, $5 on the first fish, $5 on the most and $5 on the biggest. I said what the heck and decided to accept his friendly wager. I caught the first, I caught the most and I caught the biggest fish. He caught nothing. Did he learn anything from this thrashing?
Is he now humble? No, he was still talking as I pulled away in my car (with $15 extra dollars packed into my wallet).

OOPS! Now I’m doing it. I should know better.
