I am not much of an Ann Landers fan, but I recently read something by her of which I wholeheartedly agree. She stated: “If I were asked to give what I consider the single most useful bit of advice for all humanity it would be this: Expect trouble as an inevitable part of life and when it comes, hold your head high, look it squarely in the eye and say, I will be bigger than you. You cannot defeat me.” The Lord told us via the Bible that our days would be short and full of trouble; therefore it should be no surprise when it arrives. The Bible is explicit in telling us that trouble actually strengthens our character and that we should actually be happy when going through trials.
Sometimes it is very difficult to see any benefits of trouble at the time. That is when we must go to the Word of God and utilize prayer for reassurance and strength.
