Einstein once wrote: “I never worry about the future, it comes soon enough”. He also said, ” A happy man is too satisfied with the present
to dwell too much on the future.” How many of us worry ourselves silly
about the future? The Bible tells us not to worry about the future and to trust in our Father to take care of things. It is amazing how people fret about everything from the ozone layer depletion, to the economy.
Einstein hit the nail on the head when he said a “happy” man is too “satisfied” with the present to dwell too much on the future. I believe that we should be happy during our brief stay in this world. We will have just one such opportunity, and we should enjoy it while we can.
When we really get stressed out, we should step back and take a look at the bigger picture. That is hard to do, especially when it concerns something important like the election. I admit that I am worried that Al gore will somehow steal the election, and partial birth abortion will continue for another 4 years, and thousands more innocent children will be slaughtered,(among other things). All the worry in the world will not change one thing however; but prayer might. If we pray for things that are within the will of God, He will answer them for us. God desires for us to put our complete trust and faith in Him. If we do so, He will bless us. It has to be disheartening to him to see us worry. It is as if we do not trust Him to handle things. Let us leave the future to God, pray for the things that we think that we need, and enjoy the ride as best we can.
