I along with people all over the world have been watching the Olympics.
It is interesting to watch the tears of joy and/or the tears of disappointment when these outstanding athletes compete and win or lose.
It is, as someone once coined the expression, the “thrill of victory or agony of defeat” that these athletes experience. Imagine the thrill of receiving a gold medal in front of the entire world. Imagine the agony of watching from the sidelines and thinking of what might have been.
We will one day stand before God and all of the hosts of heaven. Our performance in this lifetime will be judged by the fairest Judge of all times, God Himself. We will experience the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat. For those who achieve victory the Bible states that eye has not seen nor ear ever heard the wonderful, “eternal” rewards that await God’s children. The Bible states that there will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” for those who do not experience the thrill of victory. Imagine the thrill of standing in front of the Creator of all things and His entire heavenly host and being honored as victorious; and imagine Him sending you away from His presence in disgrace forever.
Unlike the Olympics, it is not difficult to experience victory in this life. It is a team sport and if we choose Jesus Christ as our Teammate, we win. Imagine that, we are allowed to choose to be on the winning side! It makes one stop and wonder why anyone would choose another route.

John 3:16…
For God so loved the world that
He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not
perish, but have everlasting life.
For God did not send His Son
into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him
might be saved.
He who believes in Him is not
condemned; but he who does not
believe is condemned already, because
he has not believed in the name of
the only begotten Son of God.
And this is the condemnation,
that the light has come into the
world, and men loved darkness
rather than light, because their
deeds were evil.
1 John 5:4
For whatever is born of God
overcomes the world. And this is
the victory that has overcome the
world – your faith.
