One of the hardest things to understand is WHY bad things have to happen to good people. I have given up trying to understand it in this lifetime; however it will be one of the first things I intend to ask Jesus in the next life. I have resigned myself to dealing with it even though I do not understand why it has to happen. The Bible teaches that we should actually “glory” during tribulations, because ultimately it helps produce perseverance, character and hope. I find it hard, if not impossible to find glory in tribulations. That is because I am human, but just like Matt.19:26, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible”. The best way and maybe the only way to get through painful, sad times is by drawing closer to God. When I ultimately ask God why it had to happen, perhaps His response will be, “Because I wanted to draw you closer to me”. (Or maybe He will say something else. We simply will not know in this lifetime).

Romans 5:3…
…But we also
glory in tribulations, knowing that
tribulation produces perseverance;
and perseverance, character;
and character, hope.
Now hope does not disappoint ,
because the love of God has been
poured out in our hearts by the Holy
Spirit who was given up for us.
