Evil

A friend of mine the other day scoffed at the notion that people may be demon possessed. Incredulously I looked at him and asked if he believed in evil. Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Stalin, Jeffery Dahmer, and others are are/were definitely evil and committed to it with all of their being.
Satan is behind evil and he is joined by 1/3 of the angels that were convinced by him to join him in a rebellion against God which resulted in their expulsion from heaven. The Bible states that they fell as stars from heaven. It goes on to state that angels are “innumerable” which leads me to believe that the 1/3 of the angels that are now demons is plenty to go around to spread evil throughout earth.



Angels were created higher than mankind with powers that we do not possess. Satan was given dominion over the world and has unprecedented power being created as the highest being that God created. He has the power to transform himself into an “angel of light” and has tremendous powers that we do not possess. There is an unseen world hidden from us but open to angels and demons. At times Biblical figures have had their eyes opened by God in order that they might witness their existence and this hidden world that surrounds us. Angels appeared in human form and in their own form numerous times throughout Biblical history.



Demonic possession is recorded throughout the Bible with Jesus exorcising demons from more than one person. Did demonic possession end in Biblical times? It defies logic to think it did. If you base your belief system with the Bible as its foundation one must accept the notion that demons possess human beings. Was Hitler possessed and was he given extraordinary powers to mesmerize a nation? I think so. I think the Rolling Stones and other rock bands might be likewise affected, mesmerizing millions of fans with their evil lyrics and music. We can only speculate, but there is no speculation when it comes to the existence of evil. Even my skeptic friend admitted that evil is indeed live and well. Look at the headlines today as terrorists struck in London killing and maiming innocent civilians. Why? To promote their evil agenda that is why.



The Bible tells us that we cannot win this war alone. If you have not accepted Christ as your Savior, then do so today. One day God will remove evil from our midst forever. Why He waits and delays is only known to Him. My hunch is that He is patiently waiting for those He knows will make their decision in regards to Jesus, not wanting any to perish; however if you have not made that decision do not grow complacent. The Bible states that God will return at a time when we least expect it, “as a thief in the night”. Once that occurs it will be too late. It is predicted that the world will become more and more evil until it reaches a point whereby if God did not return the world would be destroyed by it. Take a look around and see if you do not agree that indeed the world is nearing that point or perhaps at it now.
