Women in particular seem to be obsessive about dying their hair. As soon as a few streaks of gray appear, out comes the bottle of dye. The phrase, “only my hairdresser knows” is probably incorrect in that it is doubtful if “anybody” knows the true color of their hair. The Bible states that it is quite an honor to be silver headed “IF” it is found in the way of righteousness.

All kidding aside I wonder about the meaning of this verse. Is it a “crown of glory” because as we grow older we come ever closer to leaving this world and being welcomed into paradise? I have read this verse hundreds of times and even have it underlined in my Bible, but today is the first time I noticed the word “IF”.

Proverbs 16:31

The silver-haired head is a

Crown of glory,

If it is found in the way of

Righteousness.
