So what the heck is going on with bathrooms and homosexual transgender people? The most frequently cited estimate is that somewhere between 0.2 to 0.3 percent of the population, are transgender and yet our President has ordered every school in America to change their locker rooms, showers, and bathrooms to allow anyone who thinks they are a different sex than their natural born identity to feel free to use the facilities as they desire. Target and other major businesses are following suite, and even leading the way.
Huh?
What do the 99.975% of the rest of the populace of the United States think about it? Well as usual they remain largely silent which is par for the course. I received a petition this morning from Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council to address this issue and only 55,000 had signed it. Click here to read and sign the petition.
So with something like 80-150 million folks in the United States who claim to be Christians out there, this tells me that most people don’t really give a rip. That’s because they haven’t thought this issue through. It isn’t about the civil rights of the tiny percentage of homosexual transgender people; it isn’t about a rambunctious teenager full of hormones that wants to take a shower with the girls; to me it is entirely about the hard core sex offenders that will use this as an excuse to gain entry to their innocent prey.
I have been on prison yards in special units reserved for sex offenders ministering to these inmates on many occasions. I’ve listened as they tearfully agonized over the demons within them that they say drive them to molest children. Most will tell you if they get out of prison they will do the same thing. There are of course figures that rebuke what they have told me and those in the LGBT community point to statistics on recidivism for child molesters as not being out of the norm for other crimes.
The reason recidivism is low is because they elude capture. Keep in mind that they must be caught and successfully prosecuted and convicted in order to be included in recidivism figures. Consider this post from the Research Council:
“The dry research figures only confirm what I have seen over and over in this field: there are a lot of sexual offenses out there and the people who commit them don’t get caught very often. When an offender is caught and has a thorough evaluation with a polygraph backup, he will reveal dozens, sometimes hundreds of offenses he was never apprehended for. In an unpublished study by Pamela Van Wyk, 26 offenders in her incarcerated treatment program entered the program admitting an average of 3 victims each. Faced with a polygraph and the necessity of passing it to stay in the treatment program, the next group of 23 men revealed an average of 175 victims each.”
One of the goals of the Jesus Alliance is to unify believers and then to equip them. One way to equip them is to educate them with the truth. It is our hope that once believers understand the serious nature of issues like this one, that they will be motivated to take action. Part of taking action is to SPEAK OUT against those things in our society that are degenerate and diabolical.
If we don’t speak out, who will? The Bible tells us to do so and since it is God’s direct word, don’t you think we should do what He tells us to do?
