Most of us are heavily burdened by the daily problems that we face. There may be shortages of food, oil, gasoline, and the money to buy them; however there is never a shortage of problems. There are plenty to go around.

Albert Einstein once said, “In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity”. It’s inevitable that we will face difficulties; the only variable is how we react to them. I have resolved myself to look for the “opportunity” whenever I’m faced with great difficulties, but admittedly it’s no easy task.

Confucius said, “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but rising every time we fall”.

I have found that it is far easier to “rise” provided we understand that there is some reason for rising, and that some “glory” will eventually come out of it.

I found out that a friend of mine is facing the most serious problem that one can face in this lifetime, he has been diagnosed with a disease that can and likely will take his life in the not too distant future. I pondered his situation looking for the “opportunity” of which Einstein spoke, or earnestly trying to see how this man could follow the line of thinking of Confucius and “rise” from this fall.

As always when faced with difficult questions I went to my Bible, and as expected God revealed a straightforward answer and I intend to share it with my friend today.

My friend must look beyond the visible into the realm of the invisible; from the finite to the infinite. Death is not some dire threat to a Christian, rather it comes with a promise of better things ahead.

God loves us and has prepared a mansion for us to live in and a new glorified body that is perfect in every way and it is all so wonderful that words simply cannot describe it. It’s literally so awesome that it is incomprehensible to our limited intellects, because we currently have nothing in our lives on this earth that is glorious enough to give us a benchmark with which to compare.

Herein is the message of the Spirit: Once our purpose on this life has been fulfilled God wants us to come live with Him . . .  forever. Therein my friends lies the “opportunity” to “rise”.

(Note: This opportunity to rise after the fall is limited to Christians…If you are not a member of the “Body of Christ” you should join today. The benefits are everlasting!)

John 14:3

And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
