I am very proud of my sons for a number of reasons including their tremendous love for their God and family, and their character, but I consider nothing I’ve taught them of greater value than their telling the truth. If one of them tells you something, you can be assured that it is solid truth to the best of their knowledge.
To be sure my father and I had our problems, but one thing sure he was a man of his word too. I admired him greatly for that and so did his community. He once told me that one’s word determines his character and through the years I’ve come to appreciate that more than ever.
It grieves me greatly to hear the lies of President Obama. Personally it is my belief that he tells lies so much that he cannot differentiate it from the truth. He was captured on video tape two dozen times saying that he didn’t have the authority to do what he did for illegal immigrants, and this Sunday outright lied and denied that he ever said it
Huh?
Sigh . . . The press gave him a pass on it as they have done with so many lies throughout his career such as, “If you want to keep your current health plan or doctor you may do so”, or his administration orchestrating the IRS attacks on conservatives, and so forth. The folks in the media and other positions of power call it “spin”. Some give him a cute little cartoon character Pinocchio “award”. No one calls him a liar; no one that is other than God. He calls those who tells lies – liars throughout the Holy Bible.
So I ask myself does the truth matter in this country and I come away convinced that the answer is, not really! For example there is currently a national uprising by blacks over a criminal who had just robbed a store in Ferguson MO, and then assaulted a police officer, and then refused to be arrested and then attacked a police officer who shot him dead in the street.
The outcry is that he was an innocent young lad simply holding his hands up and then he was gunned down in cold blood and shot in the back. Though the evidence clearly debunks that as lies, they and many in the media and government have made that their symbol of continuing racism.
The truth of the evidence that overwhelmingly demonstrated that the officer was justified in using deadly force against this thug is being ignored by President Obama, Eric Holder, and practically the entire African American population.
Why do they believe a lie instead of the truth?
Many say it is because they are profiled by the police.
Why would the police profile blacks? If it is true perhaps it is because though blacks only represent about 13 percent of the population they commit a majority of the crimes in this country.
Check it out:
Homicide
According to the US Department of Justice, blacks accounted for 52.5% of homicide offenders, with whites 45.3% and Native Americans and Asians 2.2%. The offending rate for blacks was almost 8 times higher than whites, and the victim rate 6 times higher. Most murders were intraracial, with 84% of white homicide victims murdered by whites, and 93% of black victims murdered by blacks
Youth crime
The “National Youth Gang Survey Analysis” (2011) state that of gang members, 46% are Hispanic/Latino, 35% are African-American/black, 11.5% are white, and 7% are other race/ethnicity
According to the FBI Uniform Crime Reports, in the year 2008 black youths, who make up 16% of the youth population, accounted for 52% of juvenile violent crime arrests, including 58.5% of youth arrests for homicide and 67% for robbery. Black youths were overrepresented in all offense categories except DUI, liquor laws and drunkenness.
The black arrest rate for most offenses — including murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault and property crimes is astronomically high proportional to the population, but it is also prevalent in white-collar crimes such as counterfeiting, fraud and embezzlement. And blaming this decades-long, well-documented trend on racist cops, prosecutors, judges, sentencing guidelines and drug laws doesn’t cut it as a plausible explanation.
One expert wrote: “High rates of black violence in the late twentieth century are a matter of historical fact, not bigoted imagination, The trends reached their peak not in the land of Jim Crow but in the more civilized North, and not in the age of segregation but in the decades that saw the rise of civil rights for African Americans — and of African American control of city governments.” The left wants to blame these outcomes on racial animus and “the system,” but blacks have long been part of running that system. Black crime and incarceration rates spiked in the 1970s and ’80s in cities such as Baltimore, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Washington under black mayors and black police chiefs. Some of the most violent cities in the United States today are run by blacks.
Another wrote in the Washington Times: “Black people are not shooting each other at these alarming rates in Chicago and other urban areas because of our gun laws or our drug laws or a criminal justice system that has it in for them. The problem is primarily cultural — self-destructive behaviors and attitudes all too common among the black underclass. The problem is black criminal behavior, which is one manifestation of a black pathology that ultimately stems from the breakdown of the black family. Liberals want to talk about what others should do for blacks instead of what blacks should do for themselves. But if we don’t acknowledge the cultural barriers to black progress, how can we address them? How can you even begin to fix something that almost no one wants to talk about honestly?”
In my humble opinion we can begin to fix this problem when people begin telling the truth. This does not happen because it is not politically correct to do so. If dialogue could occur and people would correctly identify the moral and cultural gaps caused by broken fatherless families a huge portion of this problem could begin to be addressed.
Eric Holder and President Obama would be well served to spend more time reading the Bible especially the part about truth. Their task force should focus on how to build families not harass police that are trying to protect the citizenry. Do they know that 72% of all African American children are born to unwed mothers?
So those who advocate the dissolution of marriage and traditional families say, So what – What difference does it make if I choose to raise my kids alone?
- 63 percent of youth suicides are from fatherless homes
- 90 percent of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes
- 85 percent of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes
- 80 percent of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes
- 71 percent of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes
- 75 percent of all adolescent patients in chemical-abuse centers come from fatherless homes
- 85 percent of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes
So if African Americans want to be free what should they do? I can tell you where it needs to begin – or better wasn’t it Martin Luther King Jr. that always quoted the passage below?
John 8:32
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
