I received a strange letter from someone who simply signed it “Peter”. It seems as though Peter has problems. He wanted to know what role I played in the selection of John Thrasher as the new FSU president. He said that Mr. Thrasher sat on the board of trustees that nominated a friend of mine, (T.K. Wetherell) to become president of FSU some years back and T.K, attended my Bible study class. In the same sentence he mentioned that I announced it was my intention to target 30 democratic states.
Huh?
He went on to say that Thrasher has been dodging answering questions on climate change and that was his “clue”.
Huh?
He told me that GMO’s (genetically modified organisms) are poisoning our food supply by placing Monsanto in key positions and my opposition to them has nothing to do with logic, but I dislike them because it is the government.
Huh?
Peter finished his letter with the following statement: “The reason you oppose both climate change and GMOs has nothing to do with logic. Preppers understand this. You are opposed because it is the government. You have failed to heed the biblical injunction to obey those who are in authority and to pray for our leaders. Your God is mammon. 2 Chronicles 7:14.
Huh?
What is a prepper? I looked it up: “A person who believes a catastrophic disaster or emergency is likely to occur in the future and makes active preparations for it, typically by stockpiling food, ammunition, and other supplies: ‘there’s no agreement among preppers about what disaster is most imminent’ – ‘whether you’re a doomsday prepper or simply like to be prepared, emergency foods should be kept on hand’
Oh, now I understand
Huh?
First I would like to say that although I think I met him once I don’t know Senator Thrasher. T.K. does come to Honey Lake Church when he is in town, but we generally talk about church, hunting, fishing, and how he wants to sneak around and eat a piece of pie and ice cream without his ever watchful wife Ginger finding out about him getting off his strict diet.
Second I couldn’t get a dogcatcher appointed and had nothing to do with FSU’s president search.
Third climate change began with Al Gore calling it global warming, and when the earth cooled a full degree they switched to climate change. Seems fishy to me!
I don’t like GMOs because chickens and cows get so pumped full of hormones that they cannot walk and it just seems to me that they cannot be good for human consumption.
I see nothing wrong with the government as long as they follow the constitution, which they do not.
I do pray for our leaders and as long as their laws don’t interfere with my religious convictions I obey them. I also pray that God will send some new leaders that love the Lord and will return our nation to one nation under God . . .
If my God was mammon I would still be in business making millions instead of donating my time to the ministry and flying all over the country like my hair is on fire.
Not too long ago someone was coming to Honey Lake and stopped at a local store and was told that I was a multi-billionaire, traveled back and forth on a helicopter to my private jet and I was building a 1000 family low income project on my property.
Huh?
Here we go . . .
I don’t know why people that I don’t even know bother to make up stuff about me. It reminds me of this quote by Francis Schaeffer: “Today not only in philosophy but in politics, government, and individual morality, our generation sees solutions in terms of synthesis and not absolutes. When this happens, truth, as people have always thought of truth, has died.”
What a way to start a week.
Ephesians 4:25
Therefore, having put away falsehood, let each one of you speak the truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another.
