Yesterday was a big news day with the Supreme Court ruling against the Obama administration in favor of Hobby Lobby. You won’t find much information on it in mainstream media, but it’s a major victory for religious liberty. In essence the ruling declares that the government cannot order citizens who own private businesses to financially support something contrary to their religious beliefs, (which in this case was abortion).
I know some of the principals in the Alliance Defending Freedom, (ADF), the firm that defended Hobby Lobby, and they were elated with the decision. With this case being won they are now batting 100% on all cases litigated against Obamacare – They have won 17 out of 17 lawsuits. This just goes to show what can happen when people work hard to combat the forces of evil.
Their eyes gleam when they talk about their battle against those dark forces whose desire is to have big government rule every aspect of our lives,. It’s obvious that they savor the fight almost as much as they enjoy the victories that they win in so many hard-fought battles.
Last night our renewal of America keynote speaker was Tim Lee. He stepped on a landmine in Vietnam and lost both his legs. He is now confined to a wheelchair and has experienced some 13 operations since. He’s a fulltime evangelist who delivers a stirring message and is in much demand, (as evidenced by the standing ovation he got after his address).
He spoke extensively about how our founders established America as one nation under God and placed our trust in God (In God we trust!). He lamented the fact that the leadership of our country is attempting to remove every reference to God from buildings, history books, society and even our currency. He ended his talk last night by speaking briefly of the huge land mine that blew up when he stepped on it. This brave Marine gave up so much and yet some won’t give up anything, not even 2 minutes a day to pray for those who are working so hard to fight those who would take away our freedom.
I have access to many websites that show graphic images of the slaughter of innocent Christians all over the world. Christians are being raped, murdered and their homes burned to the ground. Children are shot and/or beheaded while their parents are forced to watch and then they are murdered too.
Why? Simply because they are Christians.
The persecution of Christians has begun and according to prophecy will only increase. Some are devoting their lives to fighting against the tyranny that is occurring all over the world in an attempt to prevent it from consuming America in our lifetimes.
Sadly the workers are few. In fact only a small percentage of Americans who claim to be Christians even bothered to vote, much less volunteer to support those who work against the forces of evil in this country.
President Obama has 60 million members in his database who support his policies. They vote and they encourage others to do so. In many cases they go door to door and even drive people to the polls. They support his party financially and if he so desires they will march in the streets carrying signs.
Imagine for a moment being told that you must pay for someone’s abortion when you think it is the blackest of sins, or that you have to assist someone in their homosexual marriage when you believe that by doing so would make you a party to committing a grave sin against your God. Imagine going to prison because you will not renounce your faith and you publically say that sin is sin. Imagine someone shooting you, your kids, or your grandkids because you are a Christian.
Sound far-fetched? It’s happening every day in countries all over the world! Make no mistake there are those who wish to destroy your religious freedom and your country. For crying out loud get off the couch and do something! There are approximately 2 million ministries out there to choose from that need volunteers and financial resources. Choose one and go to work.
Observe what is going on and learn something from it. Wake up and do something while there is yet time!
