Many of my friends have been asking how things are going with the Renewal of America campaign and whether or not God is speaking to me about anything in particular these days.
Well we are moving right along according to schedule; the big Prayer Meeting is coming together nicely and our technology platforms should be finished and ready to sign up members by the time of the event; our self-sustaining business model is coming along and soon should be providing some badly needed funding; we are making great progress on the legal front; we are putting together a marketing blitz; and we are making progress towards creating an overall strategic plan to take back America.
Everything should be rosy – right?
Well maybe not. If I could consult with God I would ask him what it will take to motivate people to action. We sorely need some seed money, but it has not been forthcoming, and we need volunteers in several areas, but they are not forthcoming either.
If the current state of affairs isn’t enough to get folks off the couch and stir them to action, I honestly don’t know what will. Healthcare is going to “hell and a hand basket”, we have a sick economy with so many people on welfare it is mind-boggling, wars and terrorism are at all-time highs, public education in the U.S. is rapidly becoming the (not so funny) laughingstock of the world, corruption is rampant in government and business, dismantling of families is a reality; people are abandoning church in alarming numbers; our President just released the highest ranking terrorists in the world in exchange for a deserter; jihadists are marching towards Baghdad and beheading Christians along the way while Obama is playing two rounds of golf and attending a fundraiser in Palm Springs; it is End Times prophecy unfolding before our eyes, but so many eyes don’t see. Or are we so apathetic that we just don’t care.
So someone please tell me what I can say to convince someone to quit running their bank, or business, or soccer mom lifestyle long enough to stop and think about this small sampling of events and realize that unless something changes we are not going to live in a free society much longer?
If you have any ideas I’m ready to listen, because I’m drawing a blank. Think about it, President Obama probably raised $15-$20 million dollars in that single fundraising event this weekend, and yet we can’t raise a hundred thousand to fight the evil that he and his administration are engaging in. They don’t seem to have problems in gaining support for their causes.
Please tell me Lord, what can I say to convince people we are facing a clear and present danger here?
Several months ago a lady brought her son to see me at Honey Lake. He was an addict and had been for many years. She had tried everything and nothing worked. If you have never been around an addict you can’t fully understand the hopelessness of someone that is a slave to drugs. Statistics are not encouraging and less than 15% ever kick the habit.
She saw me speak at a televised church service, bought my book, and after reading of my struggles and deliverance decided that maybe I could help. So she made the four hour drive to Honey Lake and I spoke to her son for several hours one Saturday. He had tattoos and piercings, was severely addicted, and was engaging in serious crime to support his need for drugs.
I told him that the bottom line was that one of three things would happen and soon: he would either die, or go to prison, or get off drugs; the choice was his.
He told me he wasn’t ready. I spoke to his mom and told him that the only hope he had was finding God. He needed to go to a faith based rehab center and learn about Jesus Christ. I told her I could get him in, but he had to take the first step. I also told her that she had to quit giving him ANY money and unless he quit using, put him out on the street. Hopefully if things got bad enough and he sank to rock bottom, he would realize that he had to make a move towards God and deliverance.
In the meantime I told her to pray as never before.
Many months went by and finally she did as I suggested; she put him out on the street and quit supporting his habit. Her son called me here in Montana over the weekend and told me that he wanted to live, and he wanted to change his life, and he was voluntarily entering detox on Tuesday and he did! This upcoming weekend when he gets released from detox, he will enter a faith based rehab center that a friend of mine, (Murf the Surf), got him in.
His mom was ecstatic. She wrote in part:
Thanks Bob. I think he is ready this time. I didn’t force him. I’ve let him make his own choices the past few months. I want to thank you for being there for him when he has called and for all that you’ve done. I’ve played no part in that except to keep your book beside my couch on the end table. It reminds me there is always hope for everyone and anyone who is looking for it.
Thank you and God Bless.
So it appears that I need to take note of the faith that this lady demonstrated with her son. I need to put one of my books on my desk to remind myself that: “there is always hope for everyone and anyone who is looking for it”.
I will continue to pray for this country and try my utmost to remain positive and to demonstrate patience as I watch America slide into the abyss while so many folks who could do something to prevent it, do absolutely nothing aside from conducting business as usual, and attending all those IMPORTANT meetings today.
1 Peter 1:7
These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire – may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
