Recently a friend sent me a list of 100 Facts about the moral collapse of America that are too crazy to believe. I don’t have enough room to list them all, but I’ve highlighted some of the lowlights below.
- Approximately one-third of the entire population of the United States (110 million people) currently has a sexually transmitted disease according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- The United States has the highest teen pregnancy rate in the industrialized world.
- According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, there are 747,408 registered sex offenders in the United States. There are 106,216 registered sex offenders in the state of California alone.
- 18 percent of all women in the United States say that they have been raped at some point in their lives.
- An astounding 30 percent of all Internet traffic now goes to adult websites.
- Law enforcement officials estimate that about 600,000 Americans and about 65,000 Canadians are trading child porn online.
- It has been estimated that 89 percent of all pornography is produced in the United States.
- The marriage rate in the United States has fallen to an all-time low. Right now it is sitting at a yearly rate of 6.8 marriages per 1000 people.
- In the United States today, more than half of all couples “move in together” before they get married.
- America has the highest divorce rate in the world by a good margin.
- For women under the age of 30 in the United States, more than half of all babies are being born out of wedlock.
- At this point, approximately one out of every three children in the United States lives in a home without a father.
- The United States has the highest abortion rate in the western world. More than 62 million American babies have been slaughtered in this country since Roe v. Wade was decided in 1973.
- A Department of Homeland Security report that was released in January 2012 says that if you are “anti-abortion”, you are a potential terrorist.
- The number of sexual assaults in the U.S. military is at an all-time high, and the majority of them are male on male.
- The number of active members of the U.S. military that kill themselves each year now exceeds the number that die on the battlefield.
- America has the highest incarceration rate and the largest total prison population in the world by a wide margin.
- In America today, there are 60 million people that abuse alcohol and there are 22 million people that use illegal drugs.
- According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, doctors in the United States write more than 250 million prescriptions for antidepressants each year.
- In the United States today, prescription painkillers kill more Americans than heroin and cocaine combined.
- America has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.
- According to the federal government, the number of heroin addicts in the United States has more than doubled since 2002.
- Of all the major industrialized nations, America is the most obese. Mexico is #2.
- According to the FBI, there are now more than 1.4 million gang members involved in the 33,000 active criminal gangs in the United States.
- In 2012, the latest full year for which we have numbers, the rate of violent crime in the United States increased by 15 percent.
- At this point, 15-year-olds that attend U.S. public schools do not even rank in the top half of all industrialized nations when it comes to math or science literacy. The average young American will spend 10,000 hours playing video games before the age of 21.
- There are more than 3 million reports of child abuse in the United States every single year.
- The younger the person the more likely they are not affiliated with any religion. 9 percent of all U.S. adults that are 65 or older have no religious affiliation, but a whopping 32 percent of all U.S. adults under the age of 30 have no religious affiliation.
- 73 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support gay marriage and 72 percent of the religiously unaffiliated support legalized abortion.
- According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of Americans with “no religion” more than doubled between 1990 and 2008.
- A study conducted by the Barna Group discovered that nearly 60 percent of all Christians from 15 to 29 are not actively involved in any church.
- According to Life Way Research, 46 percent of all Americans never even think about whether they will go to heaven or not.
Well we who want to change this country certainly have our work cut out for us, but that is not to say that it cannot be accomplished. We serve the same mighty God that delivered the Israelites from the Egyptians and parted the Red Sea in order for them to exit.
Our God is a mighty God but we must pray for deliverance. 2 Chron. 7:14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. This verse does not say that if a few prayer leaders pray, rather it states “MY PEOPLE”. God is referring to His Christian children.
Today is the National Day of Prayer. Why not join me and millions of others today and pray in solidarity for our nation. We should approach almighty God in humility and humbly ask for forgiveness. We should pray for repentance for getting this country in such a mess and we should pray that God will deliver us like He did those who were slaves to Pharaoh. If we do, then God has promised that He will hear from heaven and heal our land.

Now may the God who gives perseverance and encouragement grant you to be of the same mind with one another according to Christ Jesus, so that with one accord you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, accept one another, just as Christ also accepted us to the glory of God.
