Last Friday night I attended a meeting with Allen Sears, (President/CEO/General Counsel of the Alliance Defending FREEDOM for Faith and Justice). The alliance that he represents has been around since 1993, but I just recently found out about them through a friend.

They are the believer’s answer to the ACLU and are doing remarkable work defending freedom in this country. They have been to the Supreme Court and have won an unprecedented 40 cases as well as thousands of lower court cases throughout our country. They are the legal team defending Hobby Lobby, prayer, the Bible, speaking openly about Christ on campus, living out our faith without fear, abortion laws, and so on. They defend their cases pro bono.

The only problem is there just aren’t enough of them to fight the all-out assault being waged by the progressives on Christianity and decency in this country. To that end they have begun a school and are giving scholarships and training the best and brightest Christian attorneys in the country in the Alliance’s own believer’s school. When they graduate they are obligated for a certain number of pro bono hours of legal work defending freedom and not remarkably all have continued donating pro bono hours long after their obligation has been fulfilled.

It’s good news and we need to hear about it and other good things happening to further the causes of believers. God is alive and well, and folks all over the country are doing the work of Christ. I left that meeting to fly to Huntsville TX to a Bill Glass Behind the Walls prison ministry event. There I joined 495 other volunteers including 96 freshmen. We went into about 18 correctional institutions and God blessed our efforts with 2931 decisions for Christ with 1017 of them being first time decisions in just two days. I could feel the Holy Spirit Snap, Crackle, and Pop throughout those razor wire prison yards setting free lost and tortured souls and filling them with His love.

Simply amazing!

Yesterday we had church at Honey Lake and while it wasn’t well attended, partially due to the time change, we had a great service and brunch. Later that afternoon Kenny Munds and I went over to Thomas Prison in Georgia with some of my old Thomasville First Baptist Sunday school buddies who were conducting a revival for the inmates there. Kenny sang and I offered my testimony and once again Snap, Crackle, Pop, inmates were streaming forward and getting down on their knees praying for forgiveness in groups, smiling, and receiving the hope of Jesus Christ that brings peace, joy, and love into their dark lives.

God is alive and well my friends and He is working throughout this world and all over this country. Just one week from today our Renewal of America Founder’s Forum will begin. It’s hard to believe that it is already upon us, and this morning I was having some jitters because I’m not prepared. But I have all of this week to do so and I’m sure God will be with me every step of the way. Satan will attempt to get me off course, and I’m already under attack physically with fatigue, my health, and some other problems, but I’ve prayed to God to remove these distractions at least for the next couple of weeks.

We expect huge things to come from this event. Those of you who have contributed financially and otherwise, THANK YOU! We do appreciate it and may God bless you forever for those contributions. I will get around to writing you personally when I get a chance. I would ask that you make an effort to pray for us every day this week. Please pray that God will use this Forum to make a big difference in this world beginning right here in America.

We have the right leaders coming to Honey Lake; now we need some Holy Spirit Snap, Crackle, Pop to show us His will and direction and fill us with God’s love.

And when He does we know the result:

Psalm 112:10

The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.
