Being ugly will not save you

I own a military style SIG AR 15 assault rifle and five high capacity clips that will each hold thirty rounds. My rifle is fitted with a military style scope that has fiber optics in it, and includes settings for various distances, (all of the way up to 600 yards). I also bought a substantial amount of ammo for it. Additionally I have a concealed weapons permit and carry at least one handgun practically everywhere I go.

I do not intend to hunt with either weapon. I bought them strictly for protection in case it becomes necessary. This is not to say that I don’t have hunting weaponry, indeed I also own a myriad of hunting rifles, shotguns, and handguns of varying calibers and enough ammo to fill a room.

Whoa! Am I expecting a war or what?

Well yeah!

While you may scoff and say I’ve gone over the edge with paranoia, I think we face a very real threat in this country and it’s not just from the violent crime, and terrorism that is so prevalent. Eventually the United States will have to stop sending checks to millions and millions and millions of Americans, because the amount of money being borrowed by our country is entirely unsustainable by any standard.

What do you suppose will happen when people who do not work and subsist entirely on the federal government have their checks taken away from them?

I believe they will take to the streets. I think they will be very angry. There will be anger over losing welfare checks, but also anger stimulated by a president who at every opportunity has been methodically fomenting class warfare style hatred within our society (for political purposes and his warped ideology). He has successfully turned the “have nots” against the “haves” by portraying hard working, risk taking, successful people as being greedy pigs and casting the rest of society as having been beaten down by them.

When the free ride and checks stop flowing I foresee hordes of angry people roaming the streets, similar to the Rodney King riots in L.A. robbing, pillaging, looting, murdering, and burning.

If and when this occurs, I would not be surprised to see my home and resort as being a prime target in our community. I would not however, advise these people to come down Honey Lake Road to conduct their mischief or to “occupy Honey Lake”; because I intend to protect my family, employees, and property with everything I have in my arsenal.

A friend told me the other day that there would be too many of them and not enough of me. He said, “What are you going to do if 400 angry people come down your road? They’d outnumber you.”

I answered, “They outnumber me, but I have more firepower than them. I’m gonna try my utmost to start dropping them at about 600 yards with my AR15 and if they keep approaching I will keep dropping them even if I have to get into all my various hunting rifles, shotguns, and even close range handguns. Maybe I’ll go down like those brave souls in the Alamo, but personally I think if about 40-50 would be looters and murderers get “clipped”, the rest of them might get the message that another residence would make for easier pickings.

That venerable old wrinkled up bag San Francisco kook Senator Feinstein might be able to deter these looters with her ugly looks, but I prefer Sig, Colt, Remington, Berretta, Weatherby, Winchester, Benelli, Glock, Browning, and Kahr to do my deterring.

The second amendment isn’t about hunting. It’s about providing a way for citizens to defend their families, homes, and property; (and I believe our founders having just relieved themselves of an oppressive government, also had their own government in mind when it was written).

The second amendment is still relevant today.

Make no mistake the Bible provides for protection all through the Old and New Testament. Peter drew a sword and cut off the ear of a Roman when Jesus was grabbed. Ask yourself why Jesus would even have allowed him to carry a sword if He didn’t realize that it was needed to deter those who would do harm to innocent law abiding people.

I’ve lived on the mean streets and at one point was meaner than a pit viper myself, and can tell you unequivocally that if necessary you need to be able to defend yourself. I go into prisons throughout the year through my prison ministry work and talk to men who have done harm to others and would do harm to you and your family and I can tell you the threat is real.

Yes it is unfortunate, but the reality is that police cannot be everywhere at once. Our burglar alarms occasionally go off at the resort. The police might show up a half hour or dependent upon what’s going on in the county that night, an hour or more later. I however live right on property and am there in minutes and am committed to defending my home.

Taking guns away from those who need them to defend themselves and their families is not the answer. It defies logic. Criminals don’t obey laws. They will have guns regardless. Does anyone want just criminals to have guns in this country?

Bah!

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!

Luke 22:36

“But now,” he said, “take your money and a traveler’s bag. And if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one!”
