Since I started writing Words for the Day fourteen years ago, I’ve received some pretty dumb e-mails, but lately I’m thinking Forrest Gump must surely be alive and well and sitting at a computer in his home in Alabama with little to do, but send me e-mails.
One man, who obviously thinks that he’s the smartest guy in the room and the rest of us are as dumb as the furniture decorating it, wrote to tell me that I was “sick”, and Republicans were “bigots, racists, immoral, and cared nothing about the poor and homeless”. (He wrote this in response to my WFTD entry about the “Immoral Majority” that I wrote the day after the election.)
I responded: “You liberal professors are all the same. You’ve never worked an honest day in your life and all you do is poison the minds of young people with all that crap! You keep your communist doctrine to yourself and the world will do far better. I’ve been poor, homeless, and hungry; you sir have not. You do not help people by making beggars of them. They need to work, not sit on the steps smoking crack and drinking wine bought with welfare money.”
I continued:
“You are just a blowhard. Revel in your immoral president who was the only senator to vote three times to kill innocent newborn babies that somehow survive the abortion he desires. The same one who promotes homosexuality, and declares to the world that we are not a nation founded under God. It is immoral sir to murder 53 million babies and call it a “choice”. I don’t think you even know what morality is, so why don’t you just shut up about it…”
So he of course ignores my points and writes me back with a new line of attack and says in part:
“Please peruse your Bible and get back to me with the verses where Jesus called for the overthrow of the Roman Empire. Is it immoral to care for the poor? No. Is it immoral to feed the hungry? No. Is it immoral to shelter the homeless? No. The caring for the poor, the sick and the homeless is not communist doctrine. It’s straight from Jesus, for goodness sake…”
Snap! Crackle! Pop! I wrote him back on my Blackberry: “What kind of nut are you? No one is advocating overthrowing the government; we just wanted to elect a moral president. Democrats aren’t the only people who care about the poor, the sick, and the homeless. That’s a myth perpetuated by liberals like you. I’m actually at a homeless shelter at this very moment ministering to people with a whole lot more common sense than you display. If you don’t like my views quit reading them. And quit bothering me.”
Arghhhhhh….This guy was probably sitting on his comfortable couch munching away on Cheetos and burping down a Coke watching MSNBC while I was actually out in the field trying to help some people. It’s so typical of liberals. They claim the Democratic Party cares about the poor and the hungry and the Republicans don’t. The problem is all they do is “blow” about it, because they darn sure don’t get out their checkbooks for charitable purposes. Check out the facts as to who gives the most to charity:
“A new study has been released by the Chronicle of Philanthropy on charitable giving in the United States. Based on IRS data from 2008, what it boils down to is this: Conservatives are more charitable people. They voluntarily give away more of their earnings than liberals.” (Big mouth VP Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, are prime examples, they gave a whopping 1.5 percent of their income to charity in 2011 – Romney gave away 29 per cent.)
Will our media report this? Oh no, we must not confuse the talking points, (that the Republicans are just a bunch of greedy self-serving fat cats who won’t help the poor, sick, hungry, or homeless), with the facts…
I received the following rant from a reader who is obviously disillusioned with the election:
“The American Dream ended the other night in Ohio. The second term of Barack Obama will be the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest Republic in the history of mankind. A coalition of Blacks, Latinos, Feminists, Gays, Government Workers, Union Members, Environmental Extremists, The Media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the “forever needy,” the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens and other “fellow travelers” has ended Norman Rockwell’s America. The Cocker Spaniel is off the front porch…the Pit Bull is in the back yard!!!!! The American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” and Chicago shyster, David Axelrod, along with international Socialist George Soros will be pulling the strings on their puppet to bring us into the New World Order!!!!!
Our side ran two candidates who couldn’t even win their own Home States, and Circus fat Chris Christie helped Obama over the top with a glowing “post Sandy” tribute that elevated the “Commander-in Chief” to Mother Teresa status. People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will never again comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired!!
You will never again outvote these people. It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away. It will take Zealots – Not moderates–not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status. Those who come after us will have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their Sacred Honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to “white guilt” and political correctness….. I’m done!”
I sent it to one of my other readers who’d just chastised me for stating that this country now had an immoral majority and would likely never recover. I think that barring something that would cause the nation to repent such as a deep depression, attack on US soil, or some other catastrophe that would wake people up whereby they will return to the Lord, that the United States will fall. If God doesn’t punish the United States for some of its policies, He would need to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah and the civilization that Noah preached to.
He wrote me back:
“The second line lost me. Not sure why bringing up race is relevant, unless the author is a racist…not very Christ like…Statements like this show the core of the problem Republicans have and why they will be relegated to nothing more than an irrelevant opposition party if they don’t wake up.”
I can’t speak to the man’s racial philosophy however I agree with him to the extent that whites are increasingly being discriminated against because of political correctness, the media, this president, and his attorney general in particular. That’s merely reality and not racism.
Consider the Supreme Court case launched by Abigail Fisher who states that she could not get admitted to Austin University in spite of her higher SAT score and grade point average compared with lesser qualified applicants who happened to be African American. This was done in order to achieve university racial preferences; (she is white). Or look at the Black Panthers with billy clubs at polling places that intimidated white voters in Philadelphia. Eric Holder refused to prosecute them in spite of video showing them in the very act. Or look to Janet Reno who at the behest of our president is allowing illegal immigrants to break the law and enter into this country illegally with impunity in order to garner the Hispanic vote for the Democratic Party. I could cite plenty more examples, but it’s useless. Liberal minds are already made up.
I’m sure I will be labeled a racist or worse, but you know something, I don’t really care. I know if we had a “White” History Month, or a “White” Miss America beauty pageant, there would be rioting in the streets. I don’t want to have white contests, or black, or yellow, or maroon. Why have such contests? It just further divides an already divided country. People are afraid to speak out against it, because they are afraid of being labeled a racist.
Christ didn’t and doesn’t discriminate against anyone black, yellow, brown, or white and I feel the same way. We employ a melting pot of ethnicities and genders at HLP and no one really cares what color they are, or what gender. We just want all of our employees to do a good job.
I’m not against the poor, sick, homeless, or needy either; I’m against paying able bodied people regardless of what color or gender our hard earned tax dollars to sit at home and do nothing. The Bible, (New Testament), states if someone will not work, (who is fully capable of doing the same), then they should not eat.
Was this a lie being perpetuated by Republican Thessalonians?
