I just returned from my vacation on Maui and it didn’t take long for the leisurely pace of vacation to be replaced by the fast pace of my normal lifestyle. We didn’t watch television on vacation so I missed the Republican National Convention; however I did record it and reviewed the key speeches upon my return. I felt it was encouraging and provided a better picture of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan than had been previously portrayed by the liberal dominated media.
I cannot bear to watch the Democratic national convention with its lineup of misfits and conglomeration of gays, abortion advocates, and socialist leaning activist speakers, so my television embargo continues. I’ve never watched much TV so it’s not a big deal to leave the “one-eyed god” off for a while.
I’ll be glad when the election is over. It seems that most people have made up their minds already and the country is split right down the middle. It is absolutely amazing to me that so many people support Obama, and I pray that they will have their eyes opened and he will be soundly defeated.
If he is re-elected he will continue destroying America. Aside from the antichrist portion of the Democrat platform that deals with social issues such as abortion and gay marriage, their economic policies are disastrous. Somewhere between 23 and 26 million people are out of work in this country. More people are living in poverty and receiving food stamps than at any other time in the history of our country. Just yesterday our debt passed a mind boggling $16 trillion dollars. It continues to grow at an astronomical rate and economic collapse is inevitable unless the spending is curbed, and yet President Obama refuses to reduce spending and the Democrat controlled Senate has likewise refused to pass a budget in over three and a half years, even though law dictates that they do so.
As I talk to family and friends it seems that many have given up. One of my sons indicated that he wasn’t even going to vote. I went ballistic when I heard that. He and his children have more to lose than anyone and to just give up without a fight is insane. He won’t take ten minutes out of his day and vote; ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Some friends are trying to arrange a fund raiser for Paul Ryan at Honey Lake and in fact we have a conference call this morning about it. I put out some feelers to see if some of my friends would attend, and was dismayed at the response of one who indicated that he would not attend because he felt that everyone had already made up their mind, and it really would not make any difference.
I believe this mindset of hopelessness is what got us into the mess in which we find ourselves. For heaven’s sake I wish everyone would take time to objectively look at the dire circumstance that our country has downward spiraled into and intelligently analyze it and ask themselves what this country will look like in four more years if something is not changed.
Now is NOT the time to give up; now is the time to FIGHT! All of us can make a difference. If Obama gets re-elected it will not be because I did not do everything I can think of to defeat him. I hope everyone reading this can say the same thing with a straight face.
I am currently writing a novel. The story is fictional but it deals with the very real subject of the spiritual warfare that is being waged against mankind every day. The novel is biblically based and gives a modern day glimpse of how powerful fallen angels really are and how hard they work to defeat us each and every day in ways that we can barely fathom. I’ve studied this phenomenon as presented in the Bible for many years and am trying my utmost to portray a realistic scenario that demonstrates how insidious their plots can be and how powerful they really are, and most of all how persistent they remain.
We must fight fire with fire and simply being fatalistic and giving up is not an option. The Bible tells us to never give up and to resist the evil that surrounds us with all of our being. It tells us to stand firm and to put on the full armor of God in order that we might resist. Discouragement and hopelessness are two tools that satan uses in order to earn his “bread money”. Don’t let him win this battle in your life. His bread money is our dead money…
I believe that resisting evil includes trying to elect leaders who come the closest to representing our values. We can make a difference by contributing both money and volunteering our time, voting, and working hard to encourage others to help elect candidates who at least give us a shot at living a decent life.

Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm.
