It is impossible to comprehend God’s strength, power and intellect. I believe this becomes a major stumbling block for many people, particularly “intellectual” types. They struggle greatly with questions like: “How can God be everywhere at once?” However, they watch television every night and do not question how the signal can be everywhere at once and reach them in their very living room as well as living rooms all over the world simultaneously. They can accept a TV signal being everywhere at once, but not God.

The universe is so huge and vast it isn’t even measured in miles but in the number of years it would take to get somewhere traveling at 180,000 miles/hour. Even then we run out of numbers high enough to measure these vast distances. All of it was created and is ruled over by an awesome, powerful God. Our little world is barely a blip, and we are so tiny that we aren’t even blips, yet the Bible says the very hairs on our heads are numbered and God watches our every move, listens to our every thought, and gives us strength to overcome the many trials that we experience..

God is something else. We are taught to fear Him, yet He loves us with a love so powerful and deep that our little intellects cannot even comprehend it. God gave us a free will. Why? I do not know, my guess is that He did not want to spend eternity with a bunch of robots, rather with those who love Him too. Why does He allow evil to be in the world? I guess that He continues to put up with evil even though it is an abomination to Him, because He wants as many of us to turn to Him as possible. The Bible teaches that He is “long- suffering”, not wanting to see anyone perish.

God sent Jesus to die for our sins. It is difficult to understand why He would allow such a thing to happen to His Son who He loves intensely. Aside from the physical pain of being tortured and crucified, it is also impossible to understand the mental anguish that Jesus endured when God turned His back on Him as He took on ALL the sins of the world. There are some pretty sick sins that have been committed since the beginning of time. How would you like to take all of it on your shoulders?

Some people struggle to understand how a “loving” God could allow someone to be permanently separated from Him and condemned to Hell for all of eternity. When one considers that Jesus, the perfect, sinless, loving, righteous, Son of almighty God, left His throne and endured unimaginable agony, taking the punishment that we deserved in order that we might be reunited to Him, only to see those people for whom He died, openly defy, ridicule, ignore and reject Him, it is understandable to me when He says: “Depart from Me, I never knew you”.

Have a great weekend and go to church this Sunday!

Matt.10:32
Therefore whoever confesses Me before men,
him I will also
confess before My Father who is in heaven.
But whoever denies Me before men,
him I will also deny before My
Father who is in heaven.
