Yesterday the district attorney called and told me that they have captured the thieves that stole $80,000 worth of air conditioning units out of our building in Atlanta. She wanted to know the value because she was going to make retribution part of the sentence she was going to ask for.
Very cool to see justice in action – very cool! Frankly I had lost faith in the judicial system, but it looks like these clowns are not only going to prison, but when they get out they are going to have to reimburse us.
I’ve been to prison and it’s not a great place to live. After a year in that stinking place with no A/C, sorry food, and dangerous psychopathic roommates maybe they’ll think twice before they steal from someone else.
That is just one case of theft that I have pending. I’m told that soon the thieves that robbed Honey Lake will face similar consequence. I don’t look forward to their having to suffer, but I think they need to face the consequences of their misdeeds.
In mulling over their punishment, I was thinking about how Jesus Christ gave His very life for us sinners. Even though we sinned against Him in grievous ways, He willingly took our punishment for our sins.
Hmmm… I can’t envision me taking the place of these thieves and doing their time for stealing from us, much less being crucified on a cross and being put to death in order that they may enjoy the good life.
I’ll never understand grace, but I’m REALLY glad that God is such a loving God and that He came up with it. This is something to think about the next time we dare to question God’s love for us when we go through a trial or whatever, eh?
John 3:16
For God so love the world that He gave His only Son in order that whosever believes Him might have everlasting life.
