Yesterday our honeybees were delivered. Since our plantation is named Honey Lake we felt that in order to be legit we needed to produce our own honey. I ordered 15 bee hives and when the beekeeper arrived with them, he told us that the bees were really angry because of the hot weather. He warned us to stay away from them because angry bees sting people.

Duhhhh….

I drove my truck down to see them and all the while kept my windows rolled up. Many bees were angrily buzzing around the hives, and then a few came over and began attacking my truck and bouncing against my window as they tried to get at me.

It might have been juvenile but from the safety of my truck I tapped on the window in an effort to taunt them further.

These angry bees attacking me reminded me of some remarks I got yesterday from a couple of readers who objected to my temptation dream entry. Egad I suppose I need to start rating them; (yesterday’s was PG 13 and to all of you who were offended by its content I sincerely apologize).

I like to relate Bible passages to memorable life experiences and yesterday was merely trying to make a memorable point about taking exit opportunities when tempted. I’d just lived through this experience and was actually quite proud of myself for resisting the urge to continue with the dream and thus thought I would share my triumph over temptation with my readers. The point was that no matter how tough the temptation, God always provides an exit and we should look for it and take it. I thought the entire thing was quite humorous, but long time readers know that my humor is …well… my own brand of humor for sure.

I was going to write today’s entry concerning chapter four of the Song of Solomon but figured that it’s simply too racy especially the part about the fawns. (Yikes there go fifty more subscribers; I’m not going to have any left unless I start calming down.)

I decided to write about my angry bees today. Imagine those angry bees swarming all over you as you try to harvest their honey. The Bible referred to the Promised Land as “the land of milk and honey“. As I think about angry bees swarming all over some poor soul trying to harvest that honey, I wonder if in part God chose that description to describe the Promised Land in order to warn us that in order to obtain the honey of the Promised Land, it will not be easy and we will definitely have an “Encounter of the first kind” with angry bees swarming all over us…

Seriously folks my intent is not to offend anyone. Really I’m not trying to taunt you angry bees with WFTD. No I’m just trying to make Bible study fun, meaningful, and interesting. Throughout each and every day, virtually anything that happens to me, (including in my dreams), I look to the Bible for a lesson. I always find one. I’m not aware of any children that subscribe to WFTD and I would assume that the content of what I write should not be too objectionable to share those experiences with my adult subscribers.

If you angry bees are too offended by my attempts at humor and Bible interpretation then simply safely unsubscribe and I will happily refund your money…Well… if there was a charge for it I would happily refund it, but since there is not I will simply bid you adieu and wish you the best of luck.

For those of you who wish to stick it out with me, I will tell you that if you attempt to do anything for the Lord, there will be no shortage of angry bees ready, willing, and able to criticize your every effort. There is no need to tap on the window to further irritate them, they have plenty of built in fury, but don’t let their angry buzzing deprive you from obtaining your honey. Please feel free to use this quote at any time: “If you want the honey you have to put up with the angry bees”… Bob Williamson

Exodus 3:8

So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey…
