Crazy talk

What about this gal Christine O’Donnell that the media is tormenting. She dabbled in witchcraft in high school. Hmmm I was a warlock, (male witch), for a while. She had trouble paying her mortgage. Hmmm I was homeless and penniless for a while (and also a drug addict, alcoholic, criminal, sociopath); however I found God and went on to get married and have stayed that way for nearly 40 years. I also raised three successful sons, founded 11 successful businesses and even sold one of them for $75 million. I guess you might could say that people can change.

Oh but I don’t understand she has dared to speak out against infidelity and lust – publicly. She’s a nutty crackpot.

Didn’t Jesus speak out against all of that stuff?

For crying out loud, people make mistakes and then change their lives. Surely she can be a successful senator from Delaware; after all how difficult could it be? Remember she’s running for Joe Biden’s seat. Can anyone say with a straight face that he seems like an honest and sincere, straight-shooting rocket scientist with a sterling character of the highest order?

I know I know – That was mean and the Bible tells us to love each other, (even our enemies, political or otherwise). Maybe I can get by it by remembering the old adage: loving one’s enemy does not mean to love the mire in which the pearl lies but to love the pearl that lies in the mire.

But I wonder what some of these ivy-league talking heads that are ripping O’Donnell at every opportunity have said and done in their youth. Today every word that is not politically correct is enough to label you a nut. It was not always so. Guess who said: “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible”.

The tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell.
