I had some inquiries about the status of my book and I am happy to report that I am one chapter away from reaching the turning point in my life of when I accepted Christ as my Savior and started my journey to becoming a Christian and started to turn my life around. I have changed strategy from trying to hurry, hurry, hurry to get it finished, to taking my time and carefully writing each chapter as best I know how. This book is a once and a lifetime project and I would not want to give it anything less than my very best.
The creative collaborator that I have been using as a consultant on the book told me after he reviewed the last chapter that it is as though my mentality as a writer is now echoing when I was living this period of my life. He states that as my evil life has now fully deteriorated and I am at rock bottom and have finally acknowledged that indeed the alternative of committing suicide may be my best bet, my writing has grown more “direct and coarse and it is obvious that I am ready to be done with it”.
I hope that similarly as I begin to write about experiencing the joy of getting to know and love the Lord that my writing echoes that part of my life just as vividly or even more so. After all the primary point of this book is to demonstrate the before and after of being a non-Christian and a Christian. My life story of making this transition is a vivid example of as dramatic and remarkable of a difference in one person’s life as you will likely ever encounter.
Living a life consisting of daily joy versus pain can belong to anyone. The Bible describes it as light vs. darkness and that is as apt as it gets. The light is free just for the asking and I sincerely believe it can only be obtained through Jesus Christ.
My sons and their families, along with my sister-in-law and brother-in-law left for the mainland yesterday. My wife and I stayed behind for twelve more days on Maui. My goal is to make excellent progress during this relaxing time in this beautiful tranquil place free from distractions.
I will finish this last chapter of blackness today or tomorrow and then the life changing transformation of light entering my life begins. The irony of writing about ending the blackness and starting to relate the glory of God’s blessings from this very special tropical paradise is not lost on me. I thank the Lord for what He has done in my life and hope that this book will inspire others to give the Christian way a try. It is really impossible to beat!
John 8:12
Then Jesus spoke to them again,
saying, “I am the light of the world.
He who follows Me shall not walk
in darkness, but have the light of
life”.
