As children of God we become new creatures. I thank God that this happened to me. Im still a sinner but nothing like I was prior to becoming a Christian, and now my sins are forgiven by Jesus Christ Himself. Before I was saved I used to make fun of Christians and the Bible. My impression of Christians is that they were a bunch of geeks and weird people who were artificial in nature. My nickname in High school was Mr. Cool as recorded in my senior annual. The things that gave me the nickname, Mr. Cool , were not Christian. I was very popular and one of the foremost figures in our school. Unfortunately popularity is often derived from bad behavior. I would drink more beer, win more fights, date the best looking girls, get drunk and dance until daylight. I was not someone you would want your son to run around with, or certainly not someone anyone in their right mind would want their daughter to date. The few times I went to church I saw people who did not look cool running around the church hugging each other with big grins plastered on their faces and people being overly, (sickeningly), nice to each other and telling each other how sweet they are and how much everyone loved each other. Much of this behavior appeared to be for show, insincere, corny, and it really turned me off.

I have been a Christian for many years now and I know that although there are a few Christians who appear to be insincere, the overwhelming majority of Christians do not fall into that category. I realize that I was Mr. Lost, not Mr. Cool. The Bible teaches that we become new creatures when we accept Jesus and bring God into our lives. This does not mean that we become geeks or goody two shoes, or hypocrites when we become a Christian. It means that the things of the world are not what are important to us anymore. I did not really want what God had to offer because I did not understand what God stood for. I think many people fall into that category. Everything good comes from God. Peace, joy, happiness, love and light belong to Christians. Bitterness, anger, sadness, confusion, and darkness belong to those who take a different path. I followed the path of darkness for many years and lived in misery and desperation. I turned to God, and can tell anyone unequivocally the way of God is just the opposite. It is filled with joy, happiness and peace, albeit it rains on Christians as with the lost. Christians can endure the hard times with faith and optimism because Jesus helps us every step of the way.

I just thank God that I did not go to my grave when I was Mr. Cool, because I would have been Mr. Hot in Hell for eternity.

Ephesians 4:31

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger,
Clamor, and evil speaking be
Put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another,
Tenderhearted, forgiving one
Another even as Christ forgave
You.

How well do you know the Bible?

One way to cover a multitude of sins according to the Bible is to _____??

James 5:20
