We are getting very close to Easter. It is not a time to celebrate bunny rabbits and have Easter egg hunts, rather it is a time to celebrate our salvation through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Hopefully by now you have seen the Mel Gibson movie The Passion of Christ. The movie depicts the suffering that Jesus endured in order that we might be forgiven our sins and live.
Jesus lived a life devoid of sin. He did not lie, cheat, curse, steal, get drunk, covet, commit adultery, lust, murder, hate, or committ the first sin. He lived a perfect life yet took the punishment for every sin that has ever been committed. Jesus was a man, but He was also God. The so called High Priest questioned Jesus and one of the few answers that Jesus provided to this man was that indeed He was the Christ and the Son of God.
There are those who refuse to believe this and I assume believe that Jesus was a liar for the first time in His life when He said this. They will spend eternity in Hell for their refusal to embrace the Christ who died for us all. I truly believe that time is running out. Eternity is forever. If you have not made this commitment to the Christ, then today should be the day. Jesus has a standing invitation. Your sins will be forgiven and you will be allowed to join Christ and all of His family for eternity. Simply ask Jesus to forgive you, repent of your sins, and follow Jesus for whatever time remains in your life in this world. This is the biggest decision that anyone can ever make and the only really important decision in this world. We must all decide to either accept or reject Jesus Christ. Eternity will be spent in paradise or in Hell apart from God and all that is good and holy paying for our stubborness and refusal to worship God forever.
Mark 14:61
…Again the High Priest asked Him,
saying to Him, Are you the
Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Jesus said, I am. And you will
see the Son of Man sitting at the
right hand of the Power, and coming
with the clouds of heaven.
